What is a HydraFacial?
HydraFacial is an innovative, non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that uses patented Vortex-Fusion technology to cleanse your pores and hydrate your skin. This is one of our more popular treatments at Melbourne Skin & Dermatology.
The technology does what the name implies by creating a large vacuum-like process to draw out debris from the skin. The treatment is a four-step process that entails;
- cleansing
- exfoliating
- extracting, and
- hydrating the skin.
These processes are all delivered through a HydraPeel tip, which is the pen-like device that makes this treatment possible. Your clinician will add different tips that will deliver unique serums that supply a specific skincare element in the HydraFacial process.
How does the HydraFacial treatment work?
First, the treatment will start out with cleansing your skin by removing excess sebum (skin oil) and dead skin cells. Next, a new tip is applied along with a mix of exfoliating ingredients that will help break up dirt and oils that are clogging your pores. After this step, the HydaPeel tip is maneuvered around the face acting as a vacuum to extract the impurities that have been broken up. Lastly, a nourishing, hydrating, and plumping serum will be applied to your skin. The whole treatment aims to cleanse, extract, and hydrate your skin. A full treatment session can be done in as little as 30 minutes.
What are the skincare benefits of the HydraFacial treatment?
The main benefits of a HydraFacial treatment are that it will improve the overall look and feel of your skin. Your complexion will be clearer while your skin will feel plumped, hydrated, and brightened. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles may be reduced, and the tone and texture of your skin more even. Since the treatment is removing duller surface skin and rejuvenating what is underneath, this treatment will result in a refreshed facial appearance.
What skincare needs does the HydraFacial address?
The HydraFacial treatment is quite comprehensive in that it is able to address skincare needs for all age groups. Whether you are a teen dealing with acne or an adult combatting fine lines and wrinkles, the HydraFacial has treatment benefits for you. Below is the complete list of skin concerns the HydraFacial can address:
- Oily & Congested Skin
- Enlarged Pores
- Elasticity & Firmness
- Even Tone & Vibrancy
- Skin Texture
Are there side effects to HydraFacials?
There are generally no major side-effects to this treatment aside from the possibility of slightly red skin immediately following your session. Please note that you will not feel any pain during the treatment. It is best to let your skin rest for a day to soak up all the nutrients and benefits from the HydraFacial. Additionally, make sure to talk with your clinician about any sensitivities you may have with your skin.
How much does a HydraFacial cost?
The cost of a single HydraFacial Signature treatment at Melbourne Skin & Dermatology is $220. We also provide you with a complimentary LED Healite treatment and you also receive a one month supply of a compounded cosmeceutical cream from Skin Plus Pharmacy at no extra cost. Feel free to contact us to learn more.
How do I maximize my HydraFacial results?
While you are likely to see an immediate improvement in your skin after just one 30-minute session, this is not a one-and-done treatment. The HydraFacial is meant to improve the look and feel of your skin over time; thus, for the best results a treatment is recommended every 4-6 weeks with an ongoing skin care regimen (we recommend you visit Skin Plus Compounding Pharmacy). That stated, make sure to talk to us to work out what skin care needs you wish to address and formulate a plan that works best for you.
