Medical Fees

Please note that Melbourne Skin & Dermatology is a private clinic.

To sustain a modern and progressive specialist medical practice and ensure the highest standards in medical equipment, procedures, staffing and training, we do not make cost-cutting decisions at the expense of patient safety and expertise. To remain viable under such principles, this also means that we are unable to provide a bulk-billed or discounted service under any circumstances.

Unfortunately, Medicare rebates have not kept up with the increasing costs of running a private medical practice.  This means there is always a gap to pay.

This gap may be significant to you in your financial circumstances, so please read the information below carefully.

You may also benefit from registering for the Medicare safety net, where you may be eligible to receive 80% of your out of pocket expenses when certain thresholds are reached.  You can learn more about the Medicare safety net here; https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/medicare-safety-nets

Skin Care & Cosmetic Patients

Patients seeking consultations and services provided by our cosmetic/laser nurse and dermal therapist for skin care consultations, laser treatments, mild acne, mild rosacea and general skin rejuvenation, will not require a referral and can book directly with the practitioner.

The fee for an consultation with our dermal therapist or cosmetic/laser nurse is $99.

If you would like further information on our fees, please do no hesitate to call us.

Please note that private health insurance does not cover costs of clinic consultations and procedures. This also applies to many overseas held insurance agreements.
